Planning staff told the commission that the owner of the property at 235 Beckwith Street changed after the initial application was filed and the new owner wanted more time to prepare. The applicant asked to continue the matter to the Nov. 4 meeting.
Staff explained that because the application originally filed by the prior owner had already been advertised, the question before the commission was whether to require re‑advertisement. Staff said their regulations do not require owner names in the advertisement, so re‑advertisement was not strictly required; several commissioners recommended re‑advertising because who the owner is can matter to members of the public. Commissioner Renzulli asked for clarification that the new owner (or applicant) would pay any additional advertising costs; staff said the new owner would need to sign the amended application but a new application fee would not necessarily be required.
Commissioner Rizzoli moved to continue the item to Nov. 4; Commissioner Exeter seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
