The council approved a less-than-seven-day special retail events license for Downtown Entertainment LLC, doing business as Delta Chi Alumni Missouri, for an event at 511 Jefferson Avenue. Police Officer Champion reported the police department had no objections. Brandon Hanks of Downtown Entertainment spoke on the application; the council voted to approve the license.
The council adopted a resolution authorizing the 2025 foreclosure sale and appointing an agent. It also authorized acceptance of the 2024 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program award and adopted two disbursement resolutions using District improvement funds — one benefiting the Junior Cosmos Study Club (District 7 funds) and another for Bryant High School girls athletics (District 6 funds).
A number of minor public-works contracts were approved: Stripes; Trane Technologies; Taylor Electrical Contractors Inc.; Chip Griffith Construction Co. LLC; and Civil Works Construction LLC. The council also approved execution of Contract Amendment No. 1 with the Capstone Engineering Group.
The council moved to appoint Peggy Nasir to the Tuscaloosa Public Library Board of Trustees and set Nov. 4 as the date to consider adoption of zoning amendment number 22; the introduction of zoning amendment number 22 was also recorded on the docket. For each item the transcript records motions, seconds and affirmative roll-call responses and marks the resolutions as adopted.
