The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors voted to annex a 17.54-acre Hesperia parcel into Community Facilities District (CFD) No. 94-1 to finance ongoing fire suppression services, Deputy Chief Washington told the board.
Deputy Chief Washington said the parcel (APN 3064-581-0600-017) is being developed by CRP and C Hesperia owner and that the city’s conditions of approval required annexation into the CFD to fund fire protection. "The projected amount annually of revenue from the special tax on this APN will be approximately $98,880," he told the board.
The developer, the sole property owner, executed the necessary forms requesting annexation. To expedite the matter, staff used mailed-ballot voting procedures; the property owner voted in favor when ballots were tabulated. The board then moved and voted on staff recommendations to finalize the annexation and related steps; both recommendations passed unanimously.
Board members had no public protests or additional requests to speak during the hearing. After the ballot tabulation and the board’s vote, the clerk recorded the unanimous approvals and moved forward with recommendation implementation.
What happens next: staff will complete the administrative annexation steps and apply the special tax to the APN as part of CFD financing for ongoing fire suppression services in the area.
