The Community and Economic Development (CED) executive assistant at Highland Park City Hall described her role as the first point of contact for residents, developers and contractors seeking city services, including property purchases and document processing. She said she fields emails and phone calls and refers matters to the CED director, Director Tigram, when necessary.
The assistant said her work ranges from helping residents obtain signatures on documents to supporting larger transactions such as property purchases. She said she aims to help citizens reach their goals and to support the city’s revenue through property transactions. She identified herself as a Highland Park native and said she values meeting different people daily in the role.
She told the meeting that the department is evolving and working on several projects. She noted that an auction program that had not been held for some time was restarted after she arrived; the department has held three auctions since she joined, including one on Aug. 15 in which seven properties were sold. She described the auctions as going “extremely well.”
She also said the position has personal meaning: she described herself as a wife and mother and said returning to serve the community where she grew up influenced her decision to join the city staff.
No formal actions, votes or references to statutes were recorded during this introduction.
