Local candidate requests Benbrook nomination for Tarrant Appraisal District board seat

Syeda Syeda of 6705 Sapphire Circle, North Colleyville, addressed the Benbrook City Council during citizen comments on Oct. 2 to seek the city’s nomination for a seat on the Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD) board of directors.
Syeda said she has experience with appraisal review board (ARB) duties and told council members she has attended entity meetings related to the appraisal district since January 2025 on behalf of entities that supported her candidacy. She listed municipalities and school districts she said were involved in the entities that had supported her, including Colleyville, Crowley, Benbrook, Haltom City, Richland Hills, Grapevine, Haslet, White Settlement, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth ISD, Arlington ISD and Everman ISD.
She said that changes from the 89th Texas Legislature had been incorporated into property tax code processes and that, if nominated, she would focus on uniform and equal appraisals and on accuracy and integrity in the appraisal process. Syeda also said that the two available TAD board positions this year are for four-year terms and that the nomination deadline is Oct. 14; she said ballots will be available in late October and voting continues through Dec. 14.
She asked the council for its nomination and thanked the council for consideration. No other public speakers addressed the council during the citizen comment period.
