The North Kingstown Town Manager told the council Monday that the Wickford waterfront municipal parking lot project is in its final stages, with landscaping, walkway work, retaining areas and final paving and striping underway and an expected mid-October completion.
The manager thanked Wickford residents and merchants for patience during challenges that delayed progress earlier in the year, and said the project "has turned out better than anticipated" and "does look great." He noted the town is monitoring factors such as the federal government shutdown for possible impacts to federal agency interactions but said the project remains on track for completion around the middle of the month.
The manager asked for continued patience from residents and merchants while finishing work and thanked staff and contractors involved in the project.
