Laredo ISD to continue employee clinic partnership; MOU to return to business-and-support committee

Laredo ISD staff recommended continuing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with physician Athanasi Orphanos, M.D., who purchased Preventative Health Solutions and will continue providing employee health services to the district.
Doctor Oscar Perez said the relationship with the provider has been longstanding and the proposed MOU is a single-page document in the board packet. Perez asked trustees to note minor mechanical corrections staff will request and said the MOU should be ready for business-and-support committee review. "It's a very simple MOU. It's, part of your supporting docs. A 1 pager. I think we just need to fix a little mechanical errors there," Perez said.
Trustees had no substantive questions and did not take action Monday. Staff said they will finalize the edits and present the MOU to the business-and-support committee for formal consideration.
