Fine-arts staff told the Laredo ISD Board on Oct. 6 that participation in district programs remains strong across music, band, dance, theater, visual arts and emerging activities such as chess.
Fred Rodriguez, the district's fine-arts coordinator, reported that secondary program numbers total about 4,250 program enrollments (students may be counted in multiple programs) and that elementary combined music participation was 9,744 program enrollments. He said the elementary fine-arts program total reached about 10,432 program enrollments districtwide, representing roughly 71.7% program participation at the elementary level.
