Planning board approves renaming of FM Global Way to FM Way

The Norwood Planning Board voted to approve a request by the property owner to shorten the name of a private roadway on the Foxworth Bridal campus from FM Global Way to FM Way.
The Norwood Planning Board on Oct. 1 voted to approve a request to change the name of the rear roadway at the Foxworth Bridal campus from FM Global Way to FM Way. The request was presented by Greg LaRusso, senior project manager for the property owner.
LaRusso said the change followed an internal rebranding: “We have gone through a rebranding. We've dropped the global in our name. So it's now FM.” He told the board the request was limited to the street name and that site operations, including the gate, would remain unchanged.
Planning board members asked no substantive questions and noted that town emergency services had reviewed the proposal. The board moved and seconded approval; the name change was approved by voice vote.
The decision is procedural: the board approved the name change on the roadway as presented and recorded the vote in the meeting minutes. No additional conditions were attached to the approval.
The applicant, Foxworth Bridal Estate, will coordinate with town departments to implement the change on official maps and signage.
