The Griggs County Board of County Commissioners approved the regular bills presented at its Oct. 6 meeting and later approved using county COVID funds to pay a Vanguard invoice totaling $38,442.50.
Commissioners discussed whether the Vanguard charges should come from ARPA funds; staff reported that ARPA funding was exhausted for that item. County staff noted an alternative $100,000 COVID fund that has no federal restrictions and could be used without a timeline. "The Vanguard comes to $38,442.50," a county staff member said during the meeting, and the commission subsequently voted to use COVID funds to pay the invoice.
Procedural motions to approve the agenda and the Sept. 22 meeting minutes were also adopted by voice vote. Commissioners conducted a voice vote to approve the bills as presented, and later voted to approve the Vanguard payment from COVID funds.
The commission discussed but postponed action on a separate Vanguard item that had been tabled earlier. The meeting record shows bills were approved and the Vanguard invoice will be paid from unrestricted COVID funds; staff will note the expenditure in county accounting records.
