The committee recommended passage of a substitute ordinance to change zoning at 1414 North Bell Phillips Avenue from Industrial Light (IL2) to Downtown Mixed Activity (C9) to allow a mixed‑use development proposal.
Tanya Fonseca of the Department of City Development told the committee the file had been heard previously by the zoning body and the local alderwoman (Lelei A. Cox) had met with the developer to address questions. Cox told the committee she was satisfied with the developer’s responses and moved approval; no members of the public testified before the committee at this hearing and members raised no objections.
The substitute ordinance was recommended for approval and will move to the full council for further action as required by the city’s zoning process.
