Station 10 crews relocated; rebuild awaits final permits and will take 12–18 months to start

Tiburon Fire Protection District staff reported on Sept. 16 that crews from Station 10 have been operating out of the Tiburon Baptist Church since July while the original Station 10 was demolished in August.
A fire-prevention specialist said the station was emptied for a live-burn training exercise in August and the demolition is complete. The specialist told the council the district is still awaiting final permits and construction plans; when the project begins the process is expected to take 12 to 18 months to move through permitting and pre-construction phases before on-site construction starts.
Council members asked whether apparatus or staffing would change; officials said the engine and ambulance capacity will remain the same and the apparatus will continue to be housed and available from Station 10 resources while reconstruction is underway. District staff also said a construction camera will be installed on-site to provide public updates on progress once work begins.
