Reed Union School District named finalist for state Golden Bell award

Kimberly McGrath, superintendent of Reed Union School District, told the Belvedere Tiburon Joint Disaster Advisory Council on Sept. 16 that the district is a finalist for a Golden Bell award, a statewide recognition for programs that strengthen school culture and safety.
"Reed Union School District is a finalist right now for a Golden Bell," McGrath said, and she thanked council members and local partners for their contributions to school safety and culture. She said the district was selected from thousands of applicants and that a verification step was scheduled the following day.
Council members thanked McGrath for her leadership. One council member said, "I know how hard it is to win a Golden Bell Award," and applauded McGrath's contributions since becoming superintendent.
McGrath left council members a summary document listing partner organizations and said she would notify the council of the award outcome.
