Public commenter urges renaming of homeless education department to reduce stigma

Harrison said the new name should show families “that the Clayton County School System is the pathway to promise” and referred to students served by the program as “MVPs of the system.” She also thanked the board for prior support and approval related to the program.
The board’s public-participation statement, read earlier, noted that the board will not discuss individual personnel or confidential student matters during public comment. The chairman said issues requiring possible action may be added to future agendas.
