Councilor Ringus (reporting for the Ordinance & Rules committee) said the committee met earlier and “after some deep discussion on it, we did table the matter,” adding that the current draft “seemed like it was gonna create more wrinkles.” The council then made a motion to table; the motion carried unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the minutes of June 17, 2025. The council then voted unanimously to refer the night’s new business to the appropriate committees. The meeting concluded with a unanimous motion to adjourn.
Announcements and community notices were delivered during the meeting: Councilor Bridal announced a seasonal family flu walk-in clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall Cahill Auditorium; the clinic is free, first come, first served, and open to adults 18 and older and students in grades 5–12 (Councilor Bridal asked attendees to bring insurance cards and, for 18-year-olds, to bring a parent or guardian). Councilor Flaherty announced an American Legion event marking the U.S. Navy’s 200th birthday on Friday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. in Cahill Auditorium.
Councilor Ringuis (Ringus) also announced the unexpected death of Dr. Maureen Murray Adamson, who served in Braintree schools leadership roles; Ringuis asked the council to keep her family in their prayers. Councilor Maglio summarized upcoming sessions connected to the Four River Basin Summit (including speakers and dates) and noted an East Braintree Community Action Coalition candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., to be moderated by Tamisha Civil and to be carried by BCAM.
