The Town of Braintree Town Council recognized the Braintree American Little League U12 A team during a council meeting, praising players, coaches and families for a postseason run that included District 8 and Section 2 championships, the Massachusetts state title, the New England regional championship and a win at the Little League World Series.
Coach Frank Fasoli, who led the team with a group of assistant coaches, told the council the accomplishment came from sustained practice and community support. “They wanted to practice more than we did,” Fasoli said. “They were out there every single night practicing.”
Councilors and the council president noted the team’s impact on town morale as much as on the field. Councilor Moore, a former Braintree American board member, said the run required “unbelievable” sacrifices by parents and volunteers and called the team’s season “a summer that was unforgettable.” Councilor Quilty told the players their experiences “build character,” and Councilor Clarity said the team “made your whole town’s summer special.”
President Ryan said the team united the town and the region during its run, noting fans and watch parties across Massachusetts and New England. Several council members asked players and coaches to come forward for recognition and a group photo at the front of the chamber.
The council thanked the coaches — identified in comments as Frank Fasoli (head coach) with assistant coaches PJ Kippenhahn, Sean Needle, Chad Guthrow and Dan Sarrett — and named the roster of players during the ceremony. The council also invited parents and supporters to take photos after the recognition.
The council’s remarks emphasized sportsmanship, teamwork and community support alongside athletic achievement. The recognition concluded with councilors and team members joining at the front of the auditorium for photographs.
