Friends of Hubbardston Library working to formalize group; attorney retained, need three initial board members

Library staff and trustees who attended a regional Friends consortium meeting reported they received ideas and peer support from nearby communities. Trustees said three people are required to form an initial board (president, treasurer and secretary, with president and treasurer also able to serve as board members) and encouraged organizers to recruit additional volunteers so the work does not rest on only a few people.
Trustees said the next steps are for the volunteers to meet with the attorney, sign necessary documents, and seek volunteers for additional board positions. Trustees also agreed staff would follow up with organizers and the attorney to confirm timing and to provide any approved budgeted support previously authorized by the trustees.
