Saratoga Springs council members voted Oct. 7 to award the North Marina Phase 2 contract — including a new jetty and parking lot — to Condi, the low bidder, and authorized the city to move ahead under Resolution R25‑51.
Why it matters: Staff said work must begin promptly to meet grant expiration schedules and that the bid came in about $500,000 below the engineer’s estimate. The Phase 2 scope will open the 20‑acre north shore property to the public and includes restrooms, parking and trails described as the first phase of broader marina development.
Council and staff comments
Jeremy (city staff) told the council the project had been several years in permitting and that the jetty work is best done while the lake is low. He said the city has roughly $6 million in grants tied to the project and that the low bid and current schedule mean construction can begin this winter in limited areas, with paving and finishing work to occur in spring paving season.
A council member thanked staff for working through federal and state permitting challenges and noted the project would serve residents of Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain and Lehi. City staff said the contract completion date is anticipated in mid‑ to late summer 2026.
Ending: Council voted unanimously to award the contract and authorized staff to complete contract execution and start the work sequence, subject to standard contracting and grant reporting requirements.
