Committee recommends reappointment to county MDHHS board; members note AgeWay bylaw changes

A commissioner said AgeWay now intends to interview county-appointed noncommissioner representatives from member counties before confirming them, which changes past practice. The committee clarified that the county’s statutory appointment of commissioners remains intact, and the change appears to affect noncommissioner older adult representative seats. Commissioners said the county will continue to provide recommendations and may receive pre-interview notices from AgeWay in the future.
No objections were recorded to recommending Dr. Dudley’s reappointment; the committee’s action will go to the full board for final ratification.
