Davidson County ABC Board reports $35.5M in sales since opening; $1.34M distributed to county

Representatives of the Davidson County ABC Board reported to the Board of Commissioners on Oct. 2 that the county ABC store has recorded $35.5 million in gross sales since opening in 2019 and $3.8 million in net income since then.
At the meeting an ABC board representative said the store’s gross sales for the most recent fiscal year were about $6.3 million and that the board has distributed roughly $1,342,000 from profits back to county accounts. The speaker also noted the board employs four full-time and 11 part-time staff and that the county receives associated property tax revenue that previously went to another county when residents purchased alcohol elsewhere.
The ABC board delegation included the board chairman and store General Manager Lily Hairston, who were at the meeting to answer commissioner questions and to note the board’s effort to set aside capital for a second store location. The board said it continues to seek a second location in the county but has not finalized a site.
