Summit County submits 247-page readiness assessment; staff say full accreditation is the goal

Staff reported the county’s readiness assessment tool (RAT) submission — a 247-page packet across 10 domains — was completed and submitted on time and is now under primary and secondary review.
Why it matters: The readiness assessment is a required step in the public-health accreditation process. Staff said they expect feedback from reviewers later this fall and will continue work on a workforce development plan, quality improvement team and performance management system to respond to reviewer comments and prepare final documentation.
A staff presenter said the work was “anything but simple,” describing cross-departmental involvement that included IT, attorneys and human resources. The presenter publicly thanked PNC (the domain lead) and Tabitha from Health Promotion for their work coordinating teams and compiling documentation.
Staff said they are aiming for full accreditation (not only the pathway option) when the time comes, and emphasized continued work on quality improvement and workforce planning. Reviewers will provide a feedback report after primary and secondary review; staff hoped to hear by the end of November or early next year about the next steps.
Ending: Board members acknowledged the heavy lift and thanked staff for their cross-cutting coordination; staff said they will continue to update the Board as they receive reviewer feedback.
