Manatee Students Start Year Strong on FAST PM1; district narrows gap with state

District assessment leaders told the board on Oct. 7 that the fall progress-monitoring (PM1) results for reading and math show a promising start to the 2025-26 school year.
Evan McCarthy, Director of Assessment, Accountability and Research, said Manatee's K–2 early-literacy measures are up compared with the same window last year and that the district is narrowing its gap with statewide averages in several grades. He described PM1 as a baseline measure that helps the district shape instruction for the year ahead.
