Marion County approves initial funding and plan steps for America 250 celebration; fireworks deposit, TDC project strings authorized

Tarr provided preliminary cost estimates and vendor notices: a 30‑minute professional fireworks display at multiple locations was estimated at roughly $30,000 per show, and vendors required a 50 percent deposit to hold dates. Tarr asked commissioners for consensus to establish dedicated project accounts in both the county’s public relations budget and the TDC budget and to authorize a bid-exemption process to secure a fireworks vendor quickly.
