Stewartville officials ask Olmsted County for library, road and tax abatement support amid rapid growth

Mayor and city officials from Stewartville told the Olmsted County Board that the city is experiencing steady growth and asked for county support on multiple items, including a library remodel, road work on Fifteenth Avenue Northeast, and a county tax abatement policy to encourage development.

Mayor (first name not on record) said Stewartville is "the second largest city in Olmsted County" and said the city is seeking some county assistance with a remodel and addition to a county‑located library facility. He described filled industrial parks, an annexation of roughly 640 acres and pressure on roads and services as the city grows.
