City staff told council on Oct. 7 that the Park and Recreation Director recruitment is progressing and finalists have been identified. The recruitment firm narrowed the field to four finalists — three external candidates and one internal candidate — and interviews are scheduled for the end of the week.
Staff said the consultants hold application materials and that information will be released to council prior to any offer. The goal is to have a new director in place in November, though an external hire could push a start date into December; Parks Director Dave told council he can stay through January if needed.
Staff said they will present a final candidate recommendation in executive session before any hiring action and will provide application materials and qualifications to council before an offer is made. No names or offers were announced at the meeting.
