The bill would “direct the Department of Transportation to annually evaluate and install electric vehicle charging infrastructure equipment in our city's lampposts where feasible,” Majority Leader Amanda Farrias told the committee during opening remarks. Farrias said lamppost charging could lower costs and expand access for New Yorkers without private parking.
