Johnson County approves SB 22 salary grants for sheriff and prosecutor, pays $60 out-of-state service fee

The court approved an agreement authorizing County Judge Christopher Bedeker to sign the Rural Sheriff's Office Salary Assistance Program award (SB 22, FY26) under agreement IA000001943. A motion to approve the grant as presented passed unanimously.
The court also approved a similar SB 22 award for the county attorney's office (IA000001942), authorizing County Attorney Bill Moore to sign the prosecutor's office salary-assistance agreement. That item was approved unanimously after a motion and second recorded on the agenda.
Finally, the court approved payment of a $60 out-of-state service fee to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. County staff explained the fee was missed in processing because it had been handled as an out-of-procurement service fee; the county expects a new workflow in January to prevent similar misses. A motion to pay the fee carried unanimously.
