MPO director evaluation accepted; board approves 4% raise and amends UPWP to reflect new director

The Punta Gorda–Charlotte MPO board accepted the annual evaluation of the MPO director and approved a 4% salary increase for the director, to be effective retroactively to the date the county implemented its salary increase.
During the meeting the board reviewed staff materials including the director’s evaluation score sheet. A motion to accept the evaluation and to recommend a 4% salary increase carried unanimously. One commissioner clarified scoring philosophy and that the recommendation should be applied retroactively to the county’s effective date for raises.
The board also approved an amendment to the FY 2025–2026 Unified Planning Work Program to reflect the MPO’s updated staffing (the board’s appointment of the current director as key personnel) and to authorize the MPO chair to sign the revised resolution. MPO staff said FDOT requires an UPWP amendment when a key person change occurs and that the amendment also authorizes minor non‑financial updates in consultation with FDOT.
Both the evaluation/raise and the UPWP amendment passed on unanimous voice votes at the meeting; the UPWP amendment was described as administrative and necessary to maintain compliance with federal and state planning requirements.
