FDOT staff and county engineers also briefed the board on several corridor projects that the county and state are coordinating, including Flamingo Boulevard/State Road 776 improvements, Veterans Boulevard intersection widening (construction completion forecast December 2025), Edgewater/Flamingo multi‑phase widening design progress and Harborview right‑of‑way work. County staff noted some projects are at advanced design while construction funding remains phased over multiple years.
Board members and staff discussed coordination with private development along Flamingo/776, permitting timelines, and the need to align traffic signal mast‑arm and controller delivery dates to avoid being late to complete intersection work when private builders finish their frontage. FDOT and county staff agreed to follow up with the board on procurement timing, grant match details for the Jones Loop project, and traffic‑study comments for developer submittals at Toledo Blade and Centennial Boulevard.
