Curriculum and technology staff told the Wissahickon board on Sept. 29 that the district had been awarded and should accept and expend $1,600,735.20 in federal and state grant funds for the 2025'26 school year.
The total includes federal Titles I-A, II-A, III-A and IV-A and the Ready to Learn grant, plus state awards including a PCCD school mental health grant and a safety and security grant, staff said. "Item 15.4 is to accept and expend the federal and state grant funds for the 02/2026 school year in the total amount of $1,600,735.20," the presenter told the board.
The grants were presented for board review; administration indicated the items would be on the agenda for formal approval at the next meeting. Staff also reviewed related outplacements and program payments tied to special placements and summer services.
Board members asked clarifying questions during the curriculum and technology committee recap; no objections were raised in the full meeting transcript.
If approved, the grants will fund federal Title programs, Ready to Learn activities and state mental health and safety initiatives identified in the agenda materials shared with trustees.
