Cottonwood Heights planning commission reviews general plan draft, calls for clearer goals and implementation timeline

Cottonwood Heights City Planning Commission members on Oct. 1 reviewed a revised draft of the city's comprehensive general plan, focusing discussion on land-use goals, the transportation chapter and the state-mandated moderate income housing plan.

Planning staff said the general plan is intended to "establish the city's vision for the next 10 to 20 years," and stressed the document's role as the staff's guide when evaluating rezones, site plans and subdivisions. Jim, a city planning staff member who presented the draft, told commissioners the plan is both a public-facing vision and a practical tool for staff and elected officials.
