Council committee moves two Citizens Law Enforcement Advisory Committee nominees to legislative session

The public safety committee on Oct. 7 interviewed and heard brief remarks from two nominees for the Citizens Law Enforcement Advisory Committee (CLEAC): Robert Jennings III and Dominique Commodore.
Dominique Commodore, an assistant principal and longtime Harrisburg resident, said his background in education and youth coaching would help bridge students, families and police. He cited experience working with ninth-grade students and wrestling coaching and said he could bring ground-level perspectives to CLEAC.
Robert Jennings III — a long-time local resident, former constable and district judge and a community coach — said he believed the advisory committee could bridge tensions between residents and police, offer practical recommendations and support public safety while addressing misconduct when it occurs.
Council members and the current CLEAC members in attendance welcomed both nominees. Council President Hill provided an overview of CLEAC’s functions — policy review, investigatory reports, community engagement and annual reporting to the mayor and council — and members emphasized the committee’s role in improving police-community relations. The committee recorded motions to add Resolution 66-2025 (appointment of Robert Jennings III) and Resolution 67-2025 (appointment of Dominique Commodore) to the next legislative session agenda for formal votes.
