District construction manager Michael Hopkins updated the board Oct. 7 on multiple building projects, including the Redding campus and preliminary site work for the Crystal Run campus.
At Redding, Hopkins said demolition is complete and the stormwater management system is in place; the district is preparing grades for athletics and expects to begin field seeding and initial seating work to target spring sports next year. "This parking lot area is is starting to get prepped for the parking lot so we can expand our parking lot into this area. Looking to be with the field, hopefully, late November," Hopkins said.
Crystal Run: Hopkins showed site images and said site work will start soon for the elementary, middle and high school footprint on the Summit campus, including space reserved for a potential early childhood center (ECC). He cautioned the ECC has not received state approval: "We have not been approved for ECC. We have not. That's I said hopefully. Future. Yep. Hopefully, in the future."
Board members asked about timelines and whether trailers would be removed; Hopkins said trailers at Redding are gone and that a maintenance area will remain while he completes final work. Board members thanked construction staff and noted broader capital requests remain subject to state approval and bond financing.
Ending: Hopkins said the projects remained on time and on budget at the time of the report and that further updates will appear in subsequent meetings.
