There was no change orders... Tharen passed the motion and assured the public there is no issue here. We've vetted this out," Dallas said during the debate.
Theron acknowledged the appearance of a problem but defended his actions and said he has filed conflict-of-interest disclosures annually. He also disputed the scale of the allegation and emphasized the relative size of his compensation as an EMS volunteer. "I have filed every year any potential conflict of interest every year with the city. Those documents get filed. Anybody can come look at them," he said. Theron also said the $62,000 figure cited on a state website reflected combined reported EMS and council stipends and that the matter had been publicly reviewed.
