The Baker County Board of County Commissioners approved a contract with Browning Construction for renovations to the Sanderson Community Center, including an ADA-accessible restroom and replacement windows and doors.
Staff presented three written quotes and recommended Browning Construction, the low bidder. The Browning estimate was presented as itemized pages that totaled $39,400; staff noted the county had budgeted $50,000 for the project. County staff said additional donations and in-kind contributions are expected and will reduce the county’s net cost; commissioners asked that any donations or volunteer labor be reported back to the board for recognition and so changes to the paid contract can be tracked.
Commissioners emphasized the project’s community value and asked staff to notify the board of any contract change orders. The motion to award the contract passed by voice vote.
