Residents raised questions about proposed invasive‑species removal and possible herbicide use on a parcel referred to as the "Autobahn" site, and the conservation commission agreed to provide copies of the Notice of Intent (NOI) and the Order of Conditions (OOC) to concerned residents.
A resident asked for a copy of the NOI and whether herbicides would be used. A member of conservation staff responded: "Nothing that will harm anything," and added that any work "near the water is being done by hand." Staff said the plan calls for the herbicide application, if used, to remain well outside the water‑resource buffers described in the NOI and OOC. When asked whether the work would occur within 100 feet of water, staff said they could not recall the precise buffer numbers off the top of their head but believed it was "definitely farther than a 100 feet away."
Commission staff told the resident the documents would be made available and arranged a follow‑up visit at the town office to review the NOI and OOC. During the meeting a participant asked, "So you want them both?" and staff agreed to prepare both the NOI and the OOC for inspection.
Commissioners and staff emphasized that anything within the immediate riparian buffer would be done manually and that the NOI and OOC specify restrictions tied to proximity to water. The resident asked for clarity about what herbicides were planned; staff said they did not have the product list available but that much of the work would be done by hand.
Next steps recorded in the meeting included making copies of the NOI and Order of Conditions available at the town office and arranging a time for the resident to review those documents with staff.
