During the discussion, a committee member raised observed cigarette receptacles and people smoking near the administration building. Facilities staff responded that adults were smoking in the alley adjacent to the building and that security footage showed people leaning against the building; staff said the receptacles are used to collect butts after adults move to the alley and that the district has addressed behavior when observed.
A committee member requested clearer staff guidance; the facilities director said a memo about designated staff smoking locations had already been distributed to staff. The buildings and grounds report closed with no formal motions; committee members asked follow‑up questions about vehicle and camera scheduling and noted the planned fleet changes.
No changes to district policy were made during the meeting.
