Southern Kern Unified staff report problems with StopBinder bus-tracking app; board seeks fixes

Desiree Castro, a district staff member who presented the item, told the Southern Kern Unified School District Board that the district has launched a parent-facing bus-tracking application called StopBinder and that the district is still working through “hiccups” as it completes pickup routes and parent sign-ups.
Castro said StopBinder allows parents to download an app that shows a live map of bus movement and to receive geo‑alerts — for example, alerts five or 10 minutes before a bus arrives. “Parents can download it.
