Henry County commissioners on Oct. 21 approved a settlement resolving outstanding claims with Luxottica of America, Inc., relating to Luxottica’s 2018 tax assessment.
County Attorney CJ presented the resolution asking the board to approve settlement terms in which the county would agree to set Luxottica’s final 2018 tax assessment at $38,669,404. Under the proposed settlement Luxottica agreed to allow the county to retain a previously tendered payment of $1,083,397 and to pay the county $50,000 for costs associated with the litigation. The resolution authorized the chair or county manager, in coordination with the county attorney, to execute necessary documents to finalize the agreement.
