The Lowell Conservation Commission on Oct. 22 ratified an emergency certification for work at 109 Wood Street and carried out routine meeting business, including approval of minutes and deferring an election of officers.
Commissioners were told an emergency certification issued Oct. 7 authorized replacement of a 6-inch sewer line to prevent sewage backflow into the property; the work had already been completed by the time of the Oct. 22 meeting. “I understood that the work was already completed because the sewage was backing up and it needed to be done immediately,” a commission member said.
The commission moved to ratify the emergency certification; the motion passed unanimously. The commission also voted to approve the Oct. 8 meeting minutes and agreed to continue election of officers until more members are present. A motion to adjourn was made and seconded; the meeting was adjourned.
Recorded motions at the meeting included the ratification of the emergency certification for 109 Wood Street, approval of the Oct. 8 minutes, continuation of the election of officers to the next meeting, and adjournment. All recorded votes were unanimous in favor.
