Brenda Bachman, an events organizer, described a multi-day schedule for the Shimoda delegation and public events, including a welcome reception at the Edward King House, a festival with taiko drumming, sword dancing, kimono demonstrations and a J-pop performance at a park, karaoke at a hotel and a gravesite ceremony for Matthew Perry at the Belmont Chapel. Bachman encouraged residents to attend public events and noted some facilities (Belmont Chapel restoration viewing) would be available during specific hours.
