Petitioner Olvin Morales (listed in the case as Olvin Morales Calderon) appeared with a Spanish interpreter and described the lot area near the planned additions. He told the board the addition location corresponds to where bedrooms are situated and that neighbors contacted about the proposal raised no objections. The board noted the lot’s irregular shape and some front slope as factors supporting the variance.
Vice Chair Johnston and Member Stanton confirmed the testimony that neighbors were contacted and that the lot’s topography and irregular parcel shape supported the request. Member Stanton moved to approve B50‑25; Vice Chair Johnston seconded. The board administrator called the roll: Chair Boulware — aye; Vice Chair Johnson — aye; Member Stanton — aye. Motion carries 3–0.
Board staff told Morales the board will follow up with next steps and permitting guidance. The approval is conditioned on compliance with the board‑approved site and elevation plans and presentation of the board’s written order when applying for building permits.
