Jacob Worth, assistant to the city manager, presented an update on the city’s 2025 photo contest, saying staff received roughly 120 entries across three categories and selected winners for first, second and third place plus a best-in-show.
Worth said the contest launched in July and was intended to broaden participation in the city’s public-art and tourism projects by inviting community photographers to submit images. "Staff did launch the city's second photo contest this July," he said. Worth said the contest supplied usable imagery for tourism marketing and public-art inspiration; staff also plans to post all contest images in a Flickr file and to feature prize winners on the Visit Cedar Park tourism site.
Contest results announced by staff were:
- Events: 1st place — Yard by Yard by Clinton Graham; 2nd — Firework Round Up by Alexandra Moll; 3rd — Meet and Eat by Con Lee.
- Landscape & Wildlife: 1st — Squirrel on the Tree Looking at Me by Kristen Brown; 2nd — Doe and Fawn by Craig Chandler; 3rd — Lakeline Arts Sunset by Eric Fuentes.
- Recreation & Community Connection: 1st — Logan Swinging at the Library by Michael Bernhardt; 2nd — In the Crowd Goes Wild by Amanda Rose; 3rd — Harley at the Bark Park by Claudia Lucas.
- Best in Show: Duckstep by Amanda Roberts.
Worth confirmed entrants agreed to a usage waiver as part of the submission process. Prize winners will receive certificates and modest cash awards and winners’ images will be incorporated into tourism materials and a planned tourism magazine.
