The Effingham County Planning Board voted unanimously Oct. 14 to move its scheduled Nov. 11 meeting to Nov. 12 because the county observes Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
Chairman Ryan Thompson said the change was requested because the county observes the holiday on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Planning staff confirmed the new date keeps a quorum available and the board approved the motion without further discussion.
The board noted planning items heard by the planning board will return to the Board of Commissioners for public hearing on Nov. 4 in the same room. Staff asked applicants and members of the public to be present for that meeting if their items require action by commissioners.
The board’s approved motion was procedural only; no zoning or site-plan substance was decided at that vote.
