Animal shelter: "The shelter's doing pretty good. We're starting to prep for the winter hitting now," said Brian, an animal shelter representative, who reported the shelter received a large water tote donated by Madison Chemical to help guard against water loss and freezing. He said the shelter is seeking ideas to prevent pipes from freezing and is considering roofing over outdoor kennels to protect animals during winter. Brian reported estimates for covering the kennels ranged from about $15,000 to $22,000 for the work described and said he believed donations could help cover the cost.
