The Jefferson County Commissioners on Oct. 16 approved routine administrative items, including the Oct. 2 meeting minutes, the accounts payable vouchers, the payroll docket and the proposed 2026 meeting dates and holiday schedule.
The meeting opened with a motion to approve the Oct. 2 minutes: "First on the agenda is approve the minutes from the October 2 meeting. I Entertain a motion," the presiding commissioner said. A motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded, and the commission approved the minutes by a voice vote.
Similarly, commissioners moved and seconded motions to approve accounts payable vouchers and the payroll docket; both passed by voice vote. Later in the meeting the commission considered and approved the 2026 commissioner meeting dates and a list of 16 holidays as presented; the presiding commissioner said the calendar had been posted and did not need to be read aloud.
There were no recorded roll-call tallies or recorded dissents in the transcript; each of these routine items was adopted after the commissioners were asked to say "aye," and the commission voiced approval.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, which also passed by voice vote.
