The Oakland County Board of Commissioners voted to accept two Health and Human Services items: the 2026 Local Health Department Comprehensive Agreement for $13,599,000 and an Emerging Threats grant for $238,606.
Kate Guzman told the board the comprehensive agreement is the county’s broad annual funding through the state public‑health code and totals $13,599,000 for the year. Guzman said the amount is lower than last year primarily because about $2.5 million in COVID‑19 infection prevention funding that had been included in the prior year was removed. The comprehensive agreement supports 57 special‑revenue positions and continues the county’s recipient agreement for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
Guzman also described the Emerging Threats grant of $238,606 as funding that supports the county’s regional laboratory initiative and the county’s PFAS response. Guzman said the grant pays for one full‑time and one part‑time medical technologist (laboratory technologist) to staff the regional lab.
Commissioners voted to accept both agreements; the motion carried unanimously.
