Summary
The council approved an agreement for WisDOT to pay design costs for phase 2 of the Blotnik Bridge sanitary sewer relocation and approved a redevelopment authority resolution authorizing small parcel sales to WisDOT for the project.
The Superior Common Council approved actions Wednesday to advance work related to the Blotnik Bridge project, including an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and a redevelopment-authority resolution to transfer small parcels needed for construction.
The council voted to "approve an agreement with Wisconsin Department of Transportation for payment of the design related to phase 2 of the Blotnik Bridge sanitary sewer relocation project," the clerk read. The motion to approve that agreement was made by Councilor Ludwig and seconded by Councilor Moffitt; the presiding official recorded the motion as carried after an oral vote.
Separately, the redevelopment authority presented a resolution to sell small parcels to WisDOT so the department could complete Blotnik Bridge construction. Councilor Herrick, speaking for the redevelopment authority, said the parcels were "not very much as far as area, but it's enough that they need to, complete the project." A motion to approve the redevelopment authority resolution was moved and seconded on the floor, and the council approved the resolution by voice vote.
Director Janne Gore was identified during discussion as available to answer questions on the WisDOT design payment agreement. The meeting record does not show extended debate or further conditions tied to either approval.
Both votes clear administrative hurdles that city staff and state transportation officials said are necessary for next phases of sewer relocation and bridge work to proceed.
