County staff told the commissioners the county must finish an ADA survey this week so consultants can update the ADA transition plan, work that county staff said is needed to support applications for federal grants including the Community Crossings program.
A staff member identified as Tammy said the survey must be returned by Thursday so DLZ (the consultants) can proceed with the plan update. Tammy said DLZ will visit sites next week to evaluate accessibility at the new maintenance building, the new jail and Griffin Bike Park as part of the update.
“We have to get this plan updated in order to apply for federal grants for, like, community crossings,” Tammy said. She explained the survey is only one part of a larger update and that the work will take considerable time beyond the survey itself.
The discussion was informational; commissioners directed staff to complete the survey and prepare for the consultant site visits. No formal vote or funding decision on grant applications was recorded in the meeting transcript.
