Summary
Kimberly Conure of Goodwill Central Oklahoma introduced the new Enid store and said a 2,000 sq. ft. employment services center will provide free resume, interview and job‑search help, aiming for operation by summer/Q3.
Kimberly Conure, representing Goodwill Central Oklahoma, introduced the organization and its new Enid store during the study session and described an on-site employment services center planned for the mall location.
Conure said the Enid store will include about 2,000 square feet dedicated to an employment services center. "In that employment services center, we are going to have someone there. Their whole purpose is to help anyone that comes in for free get resumes, interview training, skill training, job searches," Conure said. She said staff will work with local employers to help place job seekers and described partnerships with local nonprofits, corrections facilities and workforce training programs.
Conure said Goodwill Central Oklahoma is a nonprofit and that roughly 86 cents of every dollar earned goes back into services. She said the Enid sales floor is about 23,000 square feet and faces McDonald's in the mall; the store will cover a service area from Ponca City to Ardmore. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays (individual stores may vary Sundays), she said.
Conure said the employment services center aims to open by summer, "definitely by Q3," and offered to be a direct contact for city officials and residents. She said Goodwill has already donated shirts and food to local outreach partners and plans to collaborate with Hope Thrift and Enid Outreach to provide training and support.
Commissioners thanked Conure and asked about hours, location and next steps. No formal action was taken; the presentation was informational.
